The seven thousand people who buy Buick Cascadas yearly will now have a few new paint choices.
GM just announced the Cascada will get an expanded color palette when 2018 models hit dealerships this fall. The company says the decision was “based on customer feedback and advanced color trending analysis.”
Rioja Red Metallic, Dark Moon Blue Metallic, join the Cascada’s currently limited color choices, while Carrageen Metallic will be available on Sport Touring models only. The optional Dark Effects package gets two of its own new colors, Summit White and Ebony Twilight Metallic.
New colors come to the convertible top too. Sweet Mocha and Malbec join the existing Ebony as an option on Premium trim Cascadas.
“Color is back,” says Catherine Black, lead designer of Buick’s Color and Trim Studio. “While 80 percent of the exterior colors purchased globally are neutrals — black, silver or grey — many customers are starting to move away from these neutral tones and have an appetite for entirely different colors like dark navy and maroon.”

Buick says the Cascada’s new palette is part of a larger ongoing advanced color and trim trend analysis from the Design Color and Trim Studio. Looking at multiple industries, Buick Color and Trim creative designers use research and global color trend analysis, beginning three to four years in advance of a vehicle debut, to inform their design and color development decisions.
Buck says most of the Cascada’s new colors appear in PANTONE’s Fall 2017 Fashion Color Report.
In addition to more color options, 2018 Sport Touring models will get standard 20-inch twin-spoke black-painted wheels, while all trims will now include navigation.
